Barangay Cabangara is located between Manueva and Basug. The barangay was named after a tree called Bangar (Stertula foetida L.) which grew abundantly in the place. The combination of Ka (CA), the stem word Bangar, and the suffix “an” formed Ka-Bangar-an, which became the name of the purok. Cabangaran signifies the place where Bangar tree exists in abundance.
