Barangay Dammay is northwest of Barangay Oribi. The present Dammay is south its old site, which was transferred after World War II to avoid further yearly destruction by the Abra River when flooded. According to tradition, the name was derived from the word “dammay” or “damayan,” signifying the spirit of helpfulness and cooperation manifested by the people during difficult times.
