In the old days, the purok, east of the old Poblacion (now Nagpanaoan), was eroded by the Abra river and the people transferred to a new barrio on the east and to Banaoang. After World War II, the people who had migrated to Banaoang, petitioning the Municipal Council of Santa that they wanted to revive their old purok, were granted their request and separated the southern part of Banaoang, which they called by the name of the old purok.
