Magsingal Municipal Hall in my mind
A
local government is identified and recognized through
its seat of government, the provincial/city/municipal
or barangay hall. This is the primary landmark of
every local government, anybody visiting a town or
city would always ask or look for its seat of
government. Its physical structure manifests the kind
of government working within and it best speaks of the
qualities of local leaders manning the day to day
affairs of the government. This is primarily because
this is where government functions and
responsibilities are initially exercised. This is
where the development course of an LGU is decided upon
and determined. This is why, the first time I assumed
office as Mayor of Magsingal, it has always been my
dream to rebuild and refurbish the old municipal
building constructed in 1676. That dream has been
very elusive, for seeing its fulfillment means setting
aside a huge sum of money. And my administration
cannot sacrifice other services, social services
especially, just to realize my dream. Almost 9 years
after, I am delighted to share with every resident of
Magsingal here and abroad that my dream is about to
realized. The reconstruction and completion of the
old municipal building highlights the many programs
and projects my administration has implemented the
past 8 years. This is also my gift to my beloved
townmates, a gesture to show my appreciation for your
support and confidence in my administration. Better
local government services are assured as local
government personnel are given suitable working
environment, ensuring residents’ satisfaction for
every government service required and availed of.
This is my legacy.
ALFONSO V. FAVIS, JR.
