provided for the development of a tourism strip which
involves development of convention venues, tourist
accommodation facilities and specialty restaurants and
boutiques.
Food Processing
Utilizing the newly constructed Multi-Line Food
Processing Complex, investors can enter into a
contract owing and/or marketing agreement for poultry,
beef, meat, and vegetable processing.
Furniture
Antique-motif and contemporary wood, metal and bamboo
furniture can be produced in the province. Adequate
raw material supply and a skilled labor force provide
critical advantages for buyers and investors.
Ceramics
Abundant local sources of a variety of clay, skilled
and creative workers and a historical legacy in
pottery and earthenware production create the impetus
for the ceramics industry in Ilocos Sur.
Handicrafts
A
generous mix of indigenous talent and international
tastes enables Ilocos Sur artisans to weave, carve and
design different lines of handicraft items from
woodcraft, bamboocraft to fiber bags and baskets.

Loom Weaving
The
province is famous for its very high quality
production of handwoven cloth known as the “Abel Iluko”,
a fabric used for Filipino formal wear. Also popular
are handwoven placemats, talbe napkins, pillow cases &
blankets.
Metal Craft
& Blacksmithry
To
complement the increasing needs of the agricultural
sector for farm implements and other service
facilities like automotive, mill supplies and metal
components in the housing sector, the province’s pool
of skilled craftsmen along the metal craft and
blacksmith sectors are gradually increasing.
